About Equinox Equinox Publishing, an independent publisher, was founded in London in 2003. The principal shareholder is Janet Joyce, who has previously held directorships at Continuum Publishing, Pinter Publishers and Blackwell Publishing. She is assisted by a team whose details can be found on the ‘Contact Us’ section of this website. Our audience is broadly academic and we publish both books and journals. Our book list includes textbooks, anthologies, monographs and reference books but we also publish ‘serious non-fiction’ within our subject areas, such as popular music, aimed at the general public (see subject area listings on this website). Our publishing attains the highest academic standards and is gaining an international reputation. We have an international author base and audience and match this with international marketing. We are constantly investing in our website and our electronic publishing activities. In 2007 we expect to publish 35 new books as well as 25 academic journals.
