Electronic Journals
Starting with their 2004 volumes, all Equinox journals are being
made available online as well as in the print edition. All institutions
with a paid, standard institutional subscription for 2004 are now
eligible to Standard Access to the online version via Extenza
e-Publishing Services and other third party ‘infomediary’
partner sites, such as SwetsWise (see below). To avoid confusion,
please note the start issues for each journal. Online access continues
as long as a library continues a subscription.

Information for Librarians for 2004
STANDARD ACCESS includes:
- Access
to PDF articles from the current volume (and from next year, to
the current and previous volume)
- IP
and/or remote user access authentication In addition, we are
participating in the CrossRef Initiative. This will assist readers to find related research through reference
linking by clicking on any ‘CrossRef’ links that appear
in the references of Equinox articles. (The click takes the reader
to cited articles in other journals.)
Site
License
All
institutions are required to abide by the Terms and Conditions outlined
in our Site License Agreement
(basic access). Please print out two copies of this, sign and return
one to: Equinox Publishing Ltd., Unit 6, The Village, 101 Amies
Street, London SW11 2JW or fax: +44 020 7350 2836.
Gaining
Access
Access
to online journals will be controlled via a library’s approved
IP address ranges that Equinox will have provided to Extenza.. This
will allow authorized users at subscribing institutions to enter
the site and view content without the need for a password. Alternatively,
the Extenza system will recognize users if they have already logged
in via Athens, or users may login at the Extenza site by using an
institution’s Athens userid and password.
Please
read the library information
sheet and complete the registration
form.
Users
will be automatically directed to the Extenza
site if they connect via one of our infomediary partner sites. Please
note, delays may occur in the loading of updated header information
by the infomediaries and aggregators; in such cases, users will
still be able to access subscriptions by visiting the Extenza site
directly.
For questions about the Extenza system and access
rights to a subscription, please contact Extenza-EPS at:

Future Developments
We expect to make additional functionality available
over the next year for libraries (known as Library Super Users)
such as access on usage and the possibility to set up additional
users via the Extenza system.
We
are also developing a Consortia policy for 2005/6 and we may proceed
to make selected back issues available online over the next few
years.
Infomediaries/Third
Party Service Providers
Electronic
access will be available through third party service providers used
by most libraries worldwide, including EBSCO
Electronic Journals Service, Maruzen,
OCLC Electronic Collections,
SwetsWise
and others.
Information for Personal Subscribers and Society Members
From 2005 we will offer online options to individuals
and members of designated scholarly societies. Please see individual
journal webpages for further details over the coming months.
