Information for Librarians and Subscription Agents (2014)

Equinox publishes over thirty journals in the fields of archaeology, communication studies/linguistics, popular music and religion. Our journals are abstracted and indexed by the major services or have been submitted for consideration in the case of new titles.


Commencing with the 2013 volume (volume 26), Australian Religion Studies Review ISSN: 1031-2943 (print), ISSN: 1744-9014 (online) will change title to Journal for the Academic Study of Religion ISSN: 2047-704X (print), ISSN:2047-7058 (online).

With the completion of volume 6, Journal of Applied Linguistics ISSN: 1479-7887 (print), ISSN: 1743-1743 (online) will formally change its title to Journal of Applied Linguistics and Professional Practice ISSN: 2040-3658 (print) ISSN: 2040-3666 (online)


In 2013, Gender & Language -- ISSN: 1747-6321 (print), ISSN: 1747-633X (online) - increases to 3 issues per volume year.

Health and Social Care Chaplaincy represents the merging of two previously published titles: Journal of Heath Care Chaplaincy (1748-801X) and the Scottish Journal of Healthcare Chaplaincy (1463-9920) both of which are ceasing following their 2012 volume. All back issue content of the previous titles will be hosted on the Equinox site and included in all institutional subscriptions.

All Equinox journals are available online (as enhanced PDFs) as well as in print.

Institutions may chose Print & Online or Online Only.

Access is via the Equinox site or through SwetsWise and other third-party infomediaries. The Equinox site is accessed via IP validation or Shibboleth/SAML single sign on.

Print & Online and Online Only subscribers have access to all available content including any new back content that is added. Permanent Archival access in the case of cancellation (or other outcome) is provided by Portico.


To avoid confusion, please note the start issues for the online versions of each journal. We have started to digitize older issues of Journal of Mediterranean Archaeology and have also recently added backfiles of International Journal of Speech, Language and the Law and The Pomegranate. There is no extra charge for online access to the complete backissue files.
