Maia’s remedy for cracks or chaps of the skin comes to us from Galen, but indirectly, appearing in a passage in which Galen is citing Andromachus Junior, and it was apparently he who attributed the recipe to a female author whom he called Maia (Galen 13.840 cf.13.837).
