Abstract |
In this chapter, Suzuki explains the origins of Mahāyāna Buddhism, especially as it expresses itself in the sects in Japan. Therefore, it is necessary to be familiar with the teaching of the Gate of the Saintly Path (Shōdōmon 聖道門) and the Gate of the Pure Land (Jōdomon 浄土門) which the author analyses thouroughly. |
