6. Description Abstract Phenomenology is one of philosophy’s interpretative keys. But why choose phenomenology for a study of the Qur’an, rather than – for example – idealism or existentialism? The reason is that phenomenology is an instrument more useful than others in allowing a philosophical interpretation of the Qur’an. Phenomenology, through reduction, intentionality and eidetic intuition, has the advantage of placing the question of truth within parentheses. Phenomenology poses the question of truth as an endless quest.
