With reference to Friedrich Heiler’s book ‘Erscheinungsformen und Wesen der Religion’ (The Manifestation and Essence of Religion) the article argues that no religious experience is needed for such a kind of classification so that any scholar of religion – be s/he a believer or a non-believer – can do that kind of research and thus contribute to a revisited Phenomenology of Religion. |
