Abstract |
Public taste was changing in the early 1960s; enthusiasm for jazz was on the wane, and Beatlemania was just around the corner. Murphy decided to join the mass exodus of American jazz musicians and move to Europe. He ended up in London, where he was to remain for the next nine years, performing regularly at Ronnie Scott’s, appearing on BBC Radio and recording an album for Fontana. |
