Abstract |
A recent development in the theory of writing has been the recognition of the mora as a level of linguistic structure that is represented in writing, specifically in the phonetic component of Japanese writing. It is the author's contribution that this approach is also relevant to Arabic, which has usually been treated as an abjad. |
