6. Description Abstract In De Saussure’s terminology, the Qur’an could be considered as a langue. Moreover, “structure” does not mean simply the “order”, nazm, of the text and its potential coherence and well-constructed shape, but alludes also to the internal coherence and self-reference of the Qur’anic language. The problems of language and “disclosure” surface again. The issue is examined through Hasan Hanafi’s and Fazlur Rahman’s thematic approach to the Holy Text.
