6. Description Abstract The rationale for and experience with seven investigatory group exercises in creative writing are examined in order to offer ideas for creating camaraderie through game-playing approaches that are applicable to diverse areas of study. Through tales of assignments gone both wrong and right, I investigate the practices of investigative opposites, investigative hypotheticals, investigative inquisition, investigative spy teams, the investigative manic cadaver, investigative manic flash fiction, and investigative postcard fiction. Student examples provide perspective and assignments are provided.
