6. Description Abstract The role of animated vocality is explored through analyses of Pharell Williams’ songs as featured in Despicable Me films. Williams’ singer-songwriter vocality – cumulative and identifying factors - atypically encompasses sound production, songwriting, and singing. Such vocality is identified within a purposefully developed framework that informs the development of animated characterisation.
