6. Description Abstract This chapter discusses dialects and the possibility of their dying out. Thus, the chance of disappearing of some traditional dialects is considered, as well as their replacement by new dialects. Additionally, dialects are argued to remain alive, and an important part of the regional and sociocultural landscape.
