6. Description Abstract Discussion then takes a mildly abstract turn toward the issue of coexistence of grammars within a single typology. Simple examples are presented which illustrate how the MOAT determines the typological compatibility of grammars, and how (graphical) MOAT structure relates to the (algebraic) join of grammars into super-grammars.
