6. Description Abstract The Cox and Larner families are the subjects of this chapter. Both Harry and Sam acknowledged the influence of their large extended families on their early exposure to songs and singing. Using census and parish records, three generations of Cox and Larner family members are discussed, illuminating the environments in which Harry and Sam spent their formative years.
