Description Abstract Furthering Smith’s argument, Drollinger-Smith provides examples of how rhetoric from incel communities denotes “true” incels or “real” women, to explore how those terms are constructed and employed to establish one’s identity or place within society. Drollinger-Smith argues that these terms have less to do with whether one really is an incel and more to do with how the label can be adapted and employed.
