Shortly before Jon Hendricks died, his 50-year Miles Ahead project finally premiered in New York City. During his career he had worked with all the greats, including Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Louis Jordan, Charlie Parker, Count Basie, Thelonious Monk and Antonio Carlos Jobim.
