6. Description Abstract A conference in Sweden organized by Ann-Christin Lövstedt brought R2L to Europe, at a time when large scale migration was widening inequalities in schools. Working with Claire Acevedo, Ann-Christin introduced the methodology to Swedish schools. In Chapter 7, Ann-Christin describes an extraordinary project to adapt the methodology for teachers working in Swedish Sign Language (SSL) in a school for deaf and hearing-impaired students.
