6. Description Abstract This chapter explores the role of belief in Hindu traditions. It lists some common beliefs, but it also highlights that there is much disparity of beliefs among Hindus. The chapter argues that for Hindus, practices are at least as important as beliefs, especially when it comes to the ways that individuals identify as “Hindu.”
