6. | Description | Abstract | Ivor may have appeared on big and small screens, but it was BBC radio that provided an outlet for his most distinctive work for over forty years. He was a regular guest on Radio 1’s John Peel and Andy Kershaw shows, an occasional guest on radio programmes for schools and joined Kenny Everett, Ron Geesin and Viv Stanshall on If It’s Wednesday, It Must Be …, but it’s his own idiosyncratic and often puzzling shows for which he’s most fondly remembered. This chapter looks at some of these shows, including King and Cutler, Ivor Cutler and …, Silence and Bat Blues, with contributions from producers, friends and fellow performers. |
