6. Description Abstract Chapter 6, The psychology of Tibetan Ati-Yoga, Dzogchen, presents the theory and practice of psychological methods of Dzogchen as expressed in Longchenpa’s works. These are about releasing confined thoughts and emotional burden the practitioner is unaware of, unsettling his habits. Then he can engage in contemplation and realize his true nature. Such methods are reviewed while employing a case study that examines the possibility of merging the two systems, Dzogchen and modern psychology.
