Abstract |
This chapter outlines Ibn ‘Arabī’s ontology by carefully examining his major metaphysical teachings, especially the concept of the “Oneness of Being,” and describes how he uses his symbolic language as a form of expressing his metaphysics. The chapter also seeks to contextualize certain ideas in his oeuvre that directly inform our exposition of love in the following chapter. |
