Description Abstract This chapter outlines Ibn ‘Arabī’s ontology by carefully examining his major metaphysical teachings, especially the concept of the “Oneness of Being,” and describes how he uses his symbolic language as a form of expressing his metaphysics. The chapter also seeks to contextualize certain ideas in his oeuvre that directly inform our exposition of love in the following chapter.
