This chapter offers a close reading of Ibn ‘Arabī’s mystical exposition of divine love in chapter 178 of his monumental work, The Meccan Openings (al-Futūḥāt al-Makkiyya). It introduces different modes of analysis, reflections, and evaluations of Ibn ‘Arabī’s distinctive language concerning the various evocations of love, and how these features are essential to Ibn ‘Arabī’s worldview. |
