6. Description Abstract Projection is an aspect of absolutization: it occurs when one feature of a symbolic object is taken to be ‘essential’ and the only relevant feature. The Jungian understanding of projection as merely bringing subjective features into an object is unhelpful because it does not differentiate projection from provisional belief.
