Abstract |
Two approaches to reading the biblical texts are diachronic and synchronic. Each has different underlying presuppositions about how the texts were produced and also differ in their usefulness for answering questions about compositional techniques and devices, the employment of sources, ideology, later additions, and the construction of meaning. |
