6. Description Abstract Compared to the rich repertoire of temple and religious artifacts in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and elsewhere, the Levant has yielded few cultic remains. Many of these, e.g. pillar figurines, were even retrieved from domestic contexts. Bones constitute important markers of the sacrificial activities described in the Hebrew Bible.
