Implicit Religion: A Reader brings together the key articles from the journal Implicit Religion under the editorship of Edward Bailey from 1998 – 2015. Designed as both a textbook for the classroom and an introduction for scholars of the depth and breath of Implicit Religion as a methodological approach and set of analytical tools. Placed under new organising categories, these journal articles are combined with new commentary and suggestions for use in the classroom. The organising categories focused on are divided into two sections for ease of use. The first is about Implicit Religion – introducing, defining, researching and applying it. The second focuses on broader themes found within religious studies courses – symbolic behaviours, meaning making, power and justice, clothing, popular culture and
performing arts.
