OUR PUBLISHING
Our focus is the academic study of religion and belief systems from a social science, historical or philosophical perspective including comparative work, cognitive historical and cognitive science approaches, work on non-Western religions, the ancient Near East and Mediterranean regions, new religious movements and work devoted to the theory and method in the study of religion and studies of the relationship between religion and contemporary social issues.

Books
Due to company restructuring following a demerger, much of our backlist in these disciplines was transferred to Acumen Publishing in 2012 (those books now reside with Routledge). We are rebuilding our lists and welcome new proposals. We publish a number of book series so if a new project is suitable for a series, please contact the series editor in the first instance; otherwise, contact Janet Joyce.
Equinox Religion Library
The Equinox Religion Library is a new platform for exploring and accessing digital editions of all our publications dealing with Biblical Studies, Religious Studies, Philosophy and Theology. Non-subscribers can browse and search thousands of book chapter and journal article abstracts; those with personal or institutional access can access full text.
