His research interests include: American religion, race and religion, and religions and science fiction. He authored the book King Tiger: The Religious Visions of Reies Lopez Tijerina, The Gospel According to Rice: The Next Asian American Christianity (2005) and has published articles for many journals including the Amerasian Journal and <>The Religious Studies Project.
