Are specialized Memory units in long-term care settings the best environment for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or would these individuals thrive in a conventional population? The pros and cons are discussed in this chapter; but the decision rests upon what appropriately meets the needs of the individual while providing a quality of life with dignity and respect.
