Description
We are introduced to Vimala, a prostitute who lives on the outer limits of Kapilavatthu. Neelima, Princess Yasodhara’s maidservant, shows up and befriends Vimala who is sitting outside her brothel. Neelima tells Vimala about the journey the women are taking to ask the Buddha for ordination, despite previous refusals.
