Description
The women meet with the Buddha. He officially gives them permission to ordain, but he introduces eight rules they must agree to first. He leaves the women to debate their response. Vimala listens for a while, but then steps outside and meets Mogallana. He discusses his own view with her. She is left without an answer. She does not know if she will continue. Some women decide to leave because of the extra rules. Most remain.
