Description

Gaining official recognition as a religion in some case may provide some protection in law and defend it against spurious associations with child abuse. However, many Pagans do not what they do as a “religion”, in the common, mainly Protestant Christian understanding of the term. In the UK, charity registration is one means of gaining recognition as a “religion”, which the Druid Network achieved in 2010. Another success was the inclusion of Pagan as an option on the Scottish 2022 census.
