Description

Julius Caesar’s belief that Druids in Gaul went to Britain to study has lent support to the view that Druidry is indigenous to Western Europe. However, contemporary Druids do not claim to be Indigenous people and nor do they claim any continuity with ancient Druid practices. They owe more to the Romantic era, particularly the works of Iolo Morganwg, and have globalised their practices to other parts of the world.
