Daniel Xerri is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Linguistics and TESOL at the University of Malta. Reflective writing and research methodology are staple parts of his teaching. Teacher research is one of his research interests and he has published widely on this subject. Some of his co-edited books include: Becoming Research Literate: Supporting Teacher Research in English Language Teaching (2018), and ELT Research in Action: Bringing Together Two Communities of Practice (2020). He is also the author of the British Council guide, How can teachers best be encouraged to engage with research – published and their own practitioner inquiry? (2022).

Description

This chapter examines the concept of reflection in the context of language education. It explores different models and frameworks of reflection, discussing how educators can engage in reflective practice to enhance their teaching and student learning outcomes.
