Chapter Three presents the “scene of religion,” from reading specific Derrida texts, including “Faith and Knowledge: The Two Sources of Religion at the Limit of Reason Alone,” "Passions: An Oblique Offering," and The Gift of Death. The author then locates Michel de Certeau’s The Mystic Fable within the scene of religion, in order to examine the mystic performance which she argues, is enacted in Beauvoir’s thought.
